Fragments is a book of stories and essays on healing trauma, abuse, and feminism from a typical woman going through it.

Fragments
I aim to show who I am.
I want to tell my story.
I try to connect with you but I feel so wrong in how I present myself.
Because….
I recall in fragments.
I speak in pieces.
I think in puzzles.
I feel pulled in all directions.
Yet can’t move in any.
I find it difficult to put myself together enough to come forward.
– From the book, Fragments, by Laura Rose
This book is my story in poems and essays. I found journalling integral to my healing as the chaos in my mind desperately wanted a place to belong. The blank papers were it. It was there; I could connect and sort out pieces of myself. I knew I had a story but could not combine it like a storybook. My brain was all over the place. So instead, I compiled my journal entries and added a few more thoughts when my mind was more cohesive to create a book about trauma, abuse, and feminism from a typical woman going through it.
I am not a therapist, but I do have extensive education now. I’m sure most of you dealing with chronic pain have acquired armchair doctorates on your challenges. No one knows more than us who’ve been down in the trenches of war. And let me be frank, what we have been through, going through, is war. So if you enjoy hearing from comrades on healing and returning to yourself, this book is for you.

I am planning on having the book ready this fall. It is written and needs to be published, or I’ll make it an ebook.
